Countdown to Strong Ale

I haven't been this excited for a beer festival since...well since my last beer festival...The Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival 2006!

Actually, I didn't know what to expect last year and it was kind of last minute. But the LAST time I was excited for a beer festival was the 2005 Bluebonnet in Irving, TX. My brewing partner Mark Thielen and I had been going to the festival for about 4 or 5 years. We were like kids in a candy store. So excited to be around so much tasty brew! Every year we wanted to bring our own just to partake in all of the action...

Well, this year it's time for the Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival 2007. It's such a great festival because the beers are soooo good and soooo alcoholic :) I really try to taste some different beers and expand my palate but the abv is so high that after the 4th or 5th, I'm pretty much out of it.

So here's the deal. Costs $25 to get in that includes the taster glass and 8 four ounce tickets. The tix buy you beers that aren't less than 8% abv(alcohol by volume). That's some potent beers.

Needless to say...we ain't driving.
